PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION OF VARIABLE AREA FLOW METER This Flowmeter works based on variable area principle. When the fluid flow increases, the float in a metal tube raises and the float’s height is directly proportional to the flow rate of the fluid..The higher the flow rate the higher the float is raised. The float moves in a tapered tube up or down in proportion to the flow rate of the fluid and the annular area between the float and the tube. Every time the rotor makes the full complete rotation, a pulse generated in the transmitter which is corresponding to the volume of fluid media passing through the cylindrical tube of the turbine flow meter.
