Working Principle of Vortex Flowmeter A Vortex Flowmeter measures the fluid flow when an obstruction placed i a fluid’s stream, the vortices are shed alternately from the placed obstruction. This creates the pattern of flow which is known as Karman street effect discovered by Todor Von Karman. The shedding frequency of the fluid is proportional to the flow velocity.
