When the fluid flow increases, the float in a metal tube raises and the float’s height is directly proportional to the flow rate of the fluid..The higher the flow rate the higher the float is raised. The float moves in a tapered tube up or down in proportion to the flow rate of the fluid and the annular area between the float and the tube.
